Sometimes an early morning flight can be worth it…sunrise over Mt. Kinabalu
Hiking around Taiwan is beyond words
This incredible firework festival was such a thrill. The festival commemorates a cholera epidemic that happened more than a century ago, and lasted more than 20 years. To drive out the evil spirits and ward off the disease, the survivors invited the spirit of Kuan Kung, the Chinese god of war. The fireworks symbolize the exorcism of demons associated with the plague. The festival is celebrated on the 15th day after the beginning of the Lunar New Year. There a multiple “bee hives” , that hold thousands of bottle rockets. Fireworks explode for hours and the streets are littered with firecrackers. It was incredible experience and if you are in Taiwan, you should go next year.
